Two Trips to the QR
I was writing my post this afternoon when my phone alarm sounded. It was a signal. It was indicative of something important that I should not take for granted. It prompted me to go out because it’s time to wait for Brandon’s school bus. Yup, I had to take a break from blogging and go outside to wait for Brandon because if the bus driver won’t see me outside, she will take Brandon back to school and I will have to pick him up there. And that… is the last thing I want to do because it’s crappy out. The rain has not stopped. It has been drizzling the whole morning and the ground is somewhat soft, muddy and yucky. The temperature is kinda warm at 58 degrees. But still I hate to drive in this condition.
Brandon came about ten minutes passed three o’ clock in the afternoon. I could tell that he didn’t have a good day in school considering that he was already wound up this morning. And as routine, I check his backpack as soon as he dropped it on his bedroom floor and looked for the “teacher-parent communicator” folder to find out how his day was.
I was right. He didn’t have a good day in school today. He made 2 trips in the QR [quiet room] which means that he gave the teaching staff some hard times. He was sent to the QR for... a. being argumentative and refusing to follow instruction, and b. for slapping Ms. M on the face. As usual, he was sorry again for being naughty and told his father what he did in school today. He apologized to his father too for giving him a hard time this morning. And he apologized to me also for being mean.
Brandon is a good boy when he is in the best of his mood. I just wish that he would be nice all the time. But being diagnosed with autism, according to Dr. Ellen his behavior is really affected by that factor. The final evaluation report on Dr. Ellen’s diagnosis finally came from the mail today too. And hopefully we will be able to get the help we need to help Brandon with his day-to-day activities and help us deal with his condition.
